Application Of Local Wisdom-Based Experimental Methods to Student Learning Motivation on Biodiversity Material

Abstract

Based on observations at Efata Soe High School, it was found that the biology learning process at school has not applied experimental methods, resulting in a decrease in student motivation to learn about biodiversity material. In addition, due to the lack of application of innovative learning methods resulting in decreased student learning motivation. The need for learning with the concept of experimentation, to increase students' knowledge about local biodiversity, especially the use of plants as natural dyes. As an impact, from this learning process, there is the use of plants and local cultural conservation efforts to remain there. The research method used in this study is an experimental method. The experiment used was Pre-Experimental Designs with a one shot case study research design. The population is all students of grade X science of Efata Soe High School consisting of 2 classes (72 people). The sample of this study was class X IPA² (30 people) of SMA Efata Soe. Purposive sampling Research Instrument in the form of questionnaire sheets. The results of data analysis obtained using experimental methods are, from the three indicators, the first indicator of student activity increased by 82%, the second interaction between students and teachers and students with students 79%, and the third motivation and enthusiasm for learning increased by 79%.
